use every chance you've been given

today i feel: efficient
today i'm hearing: ryuichi sakamoto -- war and peace
today i'm thinking: thank god for sanctuary

I am home! BTown is not terribly exciting, although a great number of buildings have popped up in the last month and a half. Very strange. But there are many great things about being at home. For example, a vast quantity of free, delicious and not-prepared-by-college-students food at my disposal, whenever I choose to take it; a queen-sized bed with snuggly covers; parents who are (for once!) glad to see me; large table/work space to work on cueing scripts, paperwork, etc., which I have been diligently working on all morning and afternoon; and no chance of being able to come to the aid of directors, designers, actors, technicians, etc. (in short: sanctuary from the theatre world).

But I can best sum up the reason why I am so delighted and excited to be home with a simple answer, which I shall display below:

My Kitty Cat

I spent all of last night having my ribcage lovingly crushed by my true furry love after a lengthy session of petting, praising, and purring. And while Lem is darling and wonderful and does a great job of making Chelsea smile when she is down, he is not my tuxedo gentleman cat. And he does not flop. Or act like a total manslut.

It's good to be home. Even if it is just for a little while.
