today i feel: funny

This morning I had another romp with my good friends at the SIU Health Centre. The medications I was put on last week seemed to be doing more or less nothing: I was still having a great deal of popping and pain in my ears and my balance and hearing come and go. The doctor I had this time (third one I've seen in two weeks) was a charming gentleman who decided my new prescription on a 'I wonder what this does' basis and didn't seem to understand why I was making noises of pain when he was prodding and pulling my ears. God bless Southern Illinois. Seriously. He gave me some amoxicillin horse pills and these new drops that smell like vinegar and burn like hell. The pharmacist was cool, though, and made me discover that I have much more respect for people who make an attempt to pronounce my name correctly than those who just assume that it's 'Kristin', but misspelled.
Ah well. I'm going to give this new stuff the weekend. If I'm not feeling great by Monday, I'm going to find a specialist in the area and rack up my mum's insurance bill. This is getting way too out of hand for my taste.
In other and much jollier news: Randy is officially a Mother Fucking Artist! I managed to run into him as I was leaving the school to hear the good news. His defense went super-well and I was able to do the Itoldyaso dance and he's off to graduation. Not gonna lie, I got a little choked up. I'm proud of him, if for no other reason than he gets embarrassed by it and acts curmudgeonly and it makes me laugh. My boy's off saving China and looking all spiffy in suits. It's a good day for academia, I think.
I've got rehearsals all this weekend, and I hope I don't pass out during them. My English paper got pushed back to Monday (I guess G-d does like me? News to me.), so I've got that to work on, but two days is plenty of time. I'm just hoping to catch up on sleep and have some way to mellow out. It's been a very, very long couple of weeks, let me tell you. I'm surprised I'm still standing. Well, sitting. Upright is the important thing. Myesh.
On an ironic note, I'm taking a nap.
