today i'm thinking: tomorrow can't come too soon
I figure after a couple of ominous, depressing posts I ought to write about something that's happy. So I am. Yeah. Take that.
I'm moving in to the house tomorrow! Stacy agreed to go with me (HAHAHA she's so naïve) and we're hitting the road at eight in the a.m. Should be a fun trip, and the loads not bad at all. I'm still not really sure how I feel about sleeping on an air mattress all summer, despite all the reassurances I'm receiving from my father that it's not an air mattress; it's an air bed. ...Whatever that means. Ah well, that's all one. I've got a wee bit of packing to do still tonight but I'll take care of that soon. I'm looking forward to my morning cup of coffee and plenty of time on the road with Stacy to clear my head and my conscience.
I got my grades back! All A's, yet again. I really hate the idea of being one of 'those' students, but it sort of mollifies all of the poor valedictorian saps who likely deserved that scholarship more than I do. I still feel as though it should be impossible to get A's because there's always room for improvement, isn't there? I'm not complaining by any means. It's keeping my mum happy with me and I can use all the help I can get in that regard.
It's cooled off quite a bit since yesterday's storm and is actually a bit nippy out right now. Mum's in the back garden letting Sam romp with Andy, the bandy-legged mutt from next door. Right now it's more Sammy romping and Andy hanging around trying to figure out if I will venture out-of-doors so he can pounce me. The answer is very much a no, much to his chagrin. My parents are suddenly unsure about whether or not Oogie and Wampus are going to be living with me in Car-bohn-duh-lay this summer. I'm kind of sad about that, but I understand where they're coming from. Haze has been acting much, much happier since they came to live with us. Poor guy's been lonesome for quite a while. We've been noticing the markings on the babies changing a bit, and it's looking like we didn't end up with two boys after all. Wampus has got a white nose all of a sudden. I jokingly asked Mum if we were going to have baby budgies, just to see the horror in her eyes. Yes, I am a terrible child.
I don't have much else to report, really. I've heard that one of our neighbours has wireless and I fully intend to steal it for as long as possible, so updates should be easy this summer. That's a relief. Otherwise, it's relatively smooth sailing on rough waves. What else is new? Meanwhile, I'm going to finish packing. Adulthood, here I come.
