rehearsing chases

today i feel: worn down
today i'm hearing: coyote special on animal planet
today i'm thinking: mondays can most often 'suck it'

Mondays are very, very long days for me. Today is no exception.

I played hooky on Valentine's Day. It was a very, very good call. I have learned over the past eighteen years of my existence that Valentine's Day tends to be an irritating and depressing day for me if I don't do something about it. This year, when presented with the option of doing something about it, I jumped at the opportunity. This year, Valentine's Day was pretty close to being the shit. Stayed in bed till noon. Got some tasty Quizno's. Ran around the coolest small town ever (home of Ian McKellen, the Bronze Smith). Drove around Giant City State Park. Tutored someone in German. Naturally, there were some bad things about Valentine's Day (it is the nature of the beast), but this Valentine's Day was exponetially awesomer than many past Valentine's Days.

Incidentally, skipping Valentine's Day also meant skipping my last Play Anal class. Which I knew; I made the conscious decision to cut class, thank you very much. I just didn't know that this would mean being uninformed on the logistics of an in-class debate to be had today. Which is cool, you know, I can dig that. It just means that my morning was spent with the girl who's trying to get me to join her cult sorority getting irritated at me for my infalliable logic. No, seriously. I was being incredibly logical and actually intelligent about my suggestions. This is not me being cocky! I rock at debates! I am a debater! My techniques just seem to fly over her head.

Long story short: I got frustrated. Observe the frustration face.

I've spent most of today running around like mad from one end of campus to the other, often to discover that I didn't need to be there after all. Which is cool. Just frustrating. Again with the frustration face.

Home was pretty good. We didn't do too much, really. Hung around with my parents a lot, ate some tasty food. I tried to give Chelsea and Downthehall Matt a halfway decent tour of the town, but there was damn-near a foot of snow and the weather was obviously tricky. It's good to be back somewhere that's warmer than 22F, even if it is windy as hell. Chelsea gets excited every time she sees me and announces a chorus of, 'Yay! You didn't blow away!'.

I suppose there's a compliment in there somewhere.

I've got to get rid of my ice pack before my whole leg goes to sleep. We've just started tech for Top Dog and I'm hoping to survive. It shouldn't be too hard; I'm just keeping a hold of a bit of realism. Hope all of you are well and warm. Have a good week.
