i can't believe

today i feel: calm
today i'm hearing: hello saferide -- my best friend
today i'm thinking: everything needs to calm the fuck down

It has been a very stressful week. I'm glad it's almost over.

Things That Have Happened This Week
by kirius blonde, age 19

1. Heath Ledger died. I cried. I am not ashamed to admit it. I cried like a flippin' baby. Then I had to do a callback. Very uncomfortable situation, let me tell you. I am still super-bummed about the fact, but it's too early for me to properly mourn. I need some time. I know this to be true.
2. Fuckin' Westboro Baptist Church is planning to picket his memorial services. What is wrong with these people? Can we please let the dead be peacefully dead? Is that too much to ask? I never thought it was, but apparently, I was wrong. Go figure.
3. Full Monty was cast. Everyone seems to have the same problem with it. This amuses me. Finally:
4. I have an audition in Chicago! I know! It's weird. My folks got a call from the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, asking if I'd like to come to their Chicago audition on 9 February. They're a school for film and television acting, so it's even more odd than if a stage acting school called me. But I called them back, got the info, and bought my train ticket. This is awesome for several reasons. It is also terrifying.

Reasons Why This Is Awesome

1. I get to see Paiga!!! Hells yes. We will be hanging. We will be chilling. We may, in fact, be riding dirty. The wonders of the universe are gaping wide for us.
2. Dude. New York. Conservatory. Me auditioning for them. You don't say no to that.
3. I'm feeling a little bit of that old divine intervention thing going on. I can't believe that this happened when it happened and it's just coincidence. I can't. Maybe I'm jut weird, but I feel like G-d is telling me something.
4. I miss Chicago so much. I can't wait to go back.

Reasons Why This Is Terrifying

1. If I do get in (which is very, very slim), I would have to transfer. School down here is paid for. How am I going to pay for New York Conservatory school fees?
2. My place is made in this theatre department. I have friends down here (though most of them are leaving after this year), I like my faculty, I know the ropes. New places are scary.
3. My likelihood of getting raped, mugged, murdered, usw. rises a great deal if I relocate to New York.
4. If I move to New York, I have more-or-less no one to turn to. I can go see my fake-kid sister (if she'll answer my calls), or my parents' old school friend, Alan (whom I have never met). All alone in the big city? Lahl...
5. I gave up the whole acting thing. I like acting, but I don't have the stamina for it. I can't keep up with daily warm-ups and lines and all of that. Why do you think I stopped?

So, if I go (which, again, slim, slim chance), every plan I've had for the past two years is in jeopardy. It's kind of exciting, really.

I've got a cake to bake. I'm out.

If you get in they will give you at least a significant amount of money. Your chances of being raped/mugged in new york are not as great as in Chicago, no matter what you may have heard. You are a fine acting talent, though you may not have a huge enough ego to contend with those around you. But you should have this ego and it is to your credit as a human being that you don't. And certainly the Lady is behind this, no matter what you, personally, may call Her. Go. Have a good time. Remember you already have plenty of a good life and a plan without anything happening. For you this is a free ticket to play. Play with it. Enjoy it. Know that there will be other such instances in your life. The Lady loves you, and me, and all of us in some way and allows us to create an understanding of being that we can accept and use to learn, grow, and most importantly love. And give Paige my love, for it is certain and strong in every moment of my life and it is always good to know these things. And Have Fun. That is what it is truly about.

If you moved to New York, we could maybe actually, like, hang out. And that would be freaking awesome.

I'm thinking about grad schools to apply to in 2010 (yes, already, shut up), and New York definitely tops the list with how many awesome schools are there and stuff. I mean, yeah, I really have no argument for you either for or against going there, but you know I support anything you wanna do, because you're fucking awesome like that. <333333

Brady James lives in New York. I'm about 90% sure he goes to that school, too. Either that or the New York Conservatory for Film and Television. They might be the same thing. I don't know. But I'm sure he'd help you figure out the city.
