Today is 'Devices of Death' on Modern Marvels. They're talking about gas chambers right now. It's kind of cool, as dark as that sounds. I'm really not a fan of the death penalty; I think it's better for criminals to suffer in the knowledge that they have not been redeemed. But it is really interesting to see how they do it. However, it's very depressing to hear The Beach Boys in a Hoveround commercial.
I saw the Polyphonic Spree in St Louis Saturday night. Dear God. If you have the opportunity, go see them. They put up an absolutely brilliant show. They were playing at the Pageant, this really cool club/bar. It might be my new favourite venue: intimate but not small enough to induce claustrophobia. Not a bad seat in that house. I also bought their first album while I was there. I can now happily say that I have all of their discography. I feel cool.
Unfortunately, somewhere in the bowels of West Central Illinois, we stopped at a Burger King and Randy contracted food poisoning. It was a very long night (though I know his was longer) and I hope to never return to the McLean Super 8 ever, ever again. But I'm home now and so is he and life is back to some sort of normalacy. I hope.
My parents have headed out to Breckenridge, Colorado, leaving me in BTown with the dog. It's very, very quiet around here. I'm trying to keep busy enough that I don't go mad, but I don't know if that'll work out. I'm taking an intensive class on Martha Graham with MCDA. Hurts so very, very good. Unfortunately, I'd forgotten that I can't really plié thanks to my plantar fasciitis, but that doesn't really matter to Martha Graham. Oh, no. I'm also working at the auction house Friday night. ...We'll see how that goes.
I really don't have a whole lot to say, obviously. I'm just hoping I don't go mad this week. So, be kind and call. I've got nothing else to do.
