Random thought: Every Hebrew prayer I have come across starts with "Barukh atah Adonai, Elohaynu, melekh ha-olam", which translates, roughly to "Blessed are you, Lord, our God, ruler of the universe". I could make an ultra religious remark, but I don't think the majority of readers would really appreciate it. Rolling eyes make me dizzy.

Tonight is the first night of Chanukah! It's also the night Mum's coming home from Florida. So celebratory ceremonies will be held downstairs with my crappy make-shift Menorah. But still, it'll work. Hopefully I'll have a "fun" Chanukah when I'm out of the house and dubbed Jewish. Right now, though, it's mostly a time of study. ...Christ, did I just say that?

I heard Johnny Cash for the first time today. He was covering a Bob Marley song with Joe Strummer. I take back everything I said about all country music sucking ass. It's only the pop-y country that sucks ass. Sorry if you like country. One hobbit's opinion.

Anyway, there's not much substance to this because I can't remember what I was going to say. Mostly I'm just geeked because it's the first day of Chanukah and I got presents, but sad because it's the first day of Chanukah and not the last day of Chanukah. That would make me much happier.

And I'm not going to get to baking Jew cookies tonight. You'll have to wait. How about candy instead?
